Day 1: UK to beijing

Today depart London Heathrow or your regional airport for your flight to Beijing. 

Day 2: beijing

Arrive in Beijing. Met on arrival and transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day free.

Day 3: Beijing

Today join a seat-in-coach day tour to see Tiananmen Square followed by the Forbidden City - the huge palace complex that was the home of China's emperors for five centuries. After lunch visit the Temple of Heaven and the beautiful Summer Palace (B, L)

Day 4: beijing

After breakfast join a seat-in-coach tour to the famous Great Wall at Badaling and the tombs of the Ming emperors. (B, L)

Day 5: Beijing to shanghai

In the morning catch the high-speed train to Shanghai (about 4- to 5-hour journey). You will be met by your local guide and then travel with them on the metro to your hotel. (B)

Day 6: shanghai

Full day seat-in-coach tour of Shanghai, starting in the old town with the Confucius Temple and surrounding street, and then the Yu Garden and teahouse. Then visit the famous Bund, or waterfront, with its colonial-style architecture and view across the Huangpu River to the skyscrapers of the Pudong district. After visiting the Shanghai Museum, take a stroll through the former French Concession which retains some of the atmosphere of 1920s Shanghai. (B, L)

Day 7: Shanghai to Suzhou

Full day seat-in-coach tour to the beautiful city of Suzhou, renowned for its elegant traditional Chinese gardens, (B, L)

Day 8: Shanghai to uk

After breakfast join your local guide and travel by metro and then the Maglev train (the world's fastest) to Shanghai Pudong airport for flight back to UK, arriving later the same day. (B)
